Design, Innovation, & Marketing

The Design, Innovation, and Marketing (DIM) team helps Texans find and use the geospatial information TxGIO provides. The team strengthens the clarity and usability of TxGIO resources so that they are straightforward for anyone to navigate, regardless of technical background.

A key part of this work is improving how users interact with geospatial information. The team’s user experience and user interface design staff refine layouts, navigation, and visual design to make materials easier to understand and apply. Additionally, the team’s cartographer produces, guides, and maintains map products for the TWDB, TxGIO, and the public. Together, these efforts support a clearer, more consistent experience for anyone relying on TxGIO data.

DIM also supports outreach, education, and community engagement across Texas. They help community members stay informed about training opportunities, statewide GIS events, and updates to TxGIO services. This includes managing the annual Texas GIS Forum, which brings together professionals to learn, share, and collaborate. Through this work, the team helps more Texans engage with trusted geospatial data.
